2012 Youth/Family
Youth Town Rides
GVBC’s youth/family rides are aimed for families with children up toapproximately 10 years of age. The rides take place on the town bike paths(hard-packed dirt) as much as possible, with some sections on roads necessaryto connect the trails. We will organize the riders by age/ability into three groups and adjust scope and distance of rides to match riders’ abilities.Some rides are held in conjunction with other events, such as the Longest Day of Trails. The finale of the Youth riding series will be a Family Bike Ride on Sept 15. Read more below:

GVBC and Rosauer’s Present the Youth Ride Finale – Sept 15, 2012
Bring your children out for a Youth Ride led by GVBC,with snacks provided by Rosauer’s. The ride starts at 10 am from Rosauer’s andwill go on the town trails to the Dinosaur Park. Rosauer’s will supply treatsat the park, the riders will have a chance to play or take a longer ride andthen we will ride back to Rosauer’s.

The ride is approximately 2.5 miles each way minimum and is suitable foryouth up to approximately 10 years of age. The ride will be on the hard-packeddirt bike paths with road sections where necessary to connect trails. Riderscan ride their own bikes, trail-a-bikes, ride in bike trailers, whatever youwant!

Mountain Bike Rides
In addition to the youth/family rides, GVBC is proud to sponsor three mountain bike rides that are geared towards beginner Mountain bike ridersregardless of age but recommended for ages 9 and older. The rider must have the endurance and equipment to ride 5 to 8mile of mountain trails. Please refer to the mountain bike riding section of the GVBC web site for more information.
