Ringling – Maudlow – Belgrade Gravel Road Tour
Route – mostly on gravel roads through the beautiful 16 Mile Creek Canyon to Maudlow (29 mi). We are hopping for “high-color” scenery. We will stop in the canyon for lunch. After Maudlow riders have two options: continue on the Bremmer Creek Road and the Dry Creek Road to the Dry Creek Church outside of Belgrade (18 mi) or, for the very ambitious, ride back to Bozeman via the Bremmer Creek Road and the Rocky Mountain Road (34 mi). The ride will be fully sagged with a trailer so riders can pull over at any point. Last year most riders ended at the junction of Bremmer Creek Road and Dry Creek Road as the Dry Creek Road to Belgrade was very wash-boarded and dusty. Links to the Map My Ride routes follow.

Equipment – The roads can be quite rough in places so a mountain bike or a cross bike is suggested. Be sure to carry an extra tube and pump. Bring lunch and gas money. Water, other beverages, and snacks will be provided.
Start – meet at the Fairgrounds parking lot at 8:00 am. We will carpool taking the fewest number of vehicles to Ringling. Everyone will share gas expenses and take turns driving the sag vehicles.
Register – Send me an email by 9/20 if you plan to ride: Tom Craver at tom@nrarep.com or 406.580.3159 This will help us determine the size of the trailer and supplies needed. The weather looks good at this point but heavy rain beforehand can make the route impassable. If we have to cancel, I will email you on Friday night. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday morning.
